These lists can be searched and a posting can be made for either a lost or found animal. You can also visit FCAC to view animals on stray hold. We suggest visiting them at least three times a week until your pet is found. They will not tell you over the telephone if there is a pet matching that description. Visit surrounding county shelters. Pets can travel up to 7 miles a day.
http://forsyth.cc/animalcontrol/ – click on Lost & Found
Internet Options
WXII 12 Pets or email pets@wxii12.com
Post your pet on your social media pages
Lost & Found Dogs – North Carolina – https://www.facebook.com/LostFoundDogs.NC/
Lost My Doggie – https://www.lostmydoggie.com
Paw Boost – https://www.pawboost.com
Pet Key – https://petkey.org
Teletracnavman – https://www.teletracnavman.com/gps-fleet-tracking-education/tracking-your-dog-with-gps
Lost Dog Behavior – Pet FBI
Be sure to search all animal shelters (there may be more than one) within your area. It is difficult to predict how far lost dogs will travel because there are just too many variables. The distance that a lost dog will travel depends upon its individual temperament, the environment (terrain and weather), and the circumstances surrounding the disappearance. The question to ask when searching for a missing dog is “Who has my dog?” One complicating factor with lost dogs is that people who pick up stray dogs often transport them out of the immediate search area. Because a large amount of lost dogs end up in foster homes and rescue adoption programs, you should contact all rescue groups and breed rescue groups within your area (Use a search engine and the keywords “animal rescue groups near [your city]”). Animal shelters and dog rescue groups are a high probability search area for a lost dog.
Animal Abuse or Neglect Complaints or Concerns
           Expand
     To Report Abuse or Neglect:
Forsyth County Animal Control Investigations/Complaints: (336) 703-2490
Animal Welfare Hotline: (855) 290-6915, ncdoj.gov
To have a domestic animal picked up:
Forsyth County Animal Control: (336) 703-3647
Forsyth County Sheriff (after hours) non-emergency: (336) 917-7001
Winston Salem Police (after hours) non-emergency: (336) 773-7700
Assistance with Feral or Stray Cats
           Expand
     Local Organizations
Humane Society of Davie County
For Davie County Residents only, offers a FREE spay neuter program for feral cats. There is no charge for the surgery, vaccines, microchip and ear tipping.
For more information: https://www.hsdavie.org/spayneuterclinic Call: 336-751-5214.

4 Paws Spay & Neuter Clinic located at 1120 Piedmont Drive, Suite A, Lexington NC 27295.
