3rd Annual Plates for Paws
February is spay-neuter awareness month. SpayKind is celebrating by hosting events during the month to bring awareness of the benefits of spay-neuter.
Join us for our third annual Plates for Paws online raffle event from February 12-25 and our Dine Out event on February 24.
WHERE: See below for participating restaurants
How it works: Dine out for breakfast, lunch, or dinner (or all 3!) on World Spay Day, February 24th, at select restaurants that will donate 10% of that day’s proceeds to SpayKind.
The money raised will be used to provide spay-neuter services to pets, shelter animals, and feral/community cats in our community.
In addition, we are hosting an online raffle and auction full of great prizes to further benefit our program. Link to start bidding coming soon! Preview is below.
Pet overpopulation results in pet homelessness, abandonment, suffering, and the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable pets simply because there are not enough homes. SpayKind focuses on the prevention of unwanted litters, thus reducing the number of pets that enter shelters. By participating in these events, you are making a difference in the outcome of future generations of homeless pets.
Let’s dine together, celebrate our furry companions, and make a difference!

Test Your Knowledge for a Great Cause
Help us close out our World Spay Awareness month with a fun Trivia Night hosted by Incendiary Brewing Company. Incendiary is so onboard with spaying and neutering your pets to reduce pet overpopulation, they are dedicating an evening to help us raise funds. Join us for “Play to Spay” Trivia Night on Wednesday, February 25, from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. Teams of up to 8 are welcome! The suggested donation is $5 per person, or you can bring paper towels or puppy pee pads. While trivia starts at 7:30, come and enjoy the fun earlier. We’ll be there!
All proceeds go toward spay-neuter
surgeries for pets in need.
DORIS DAY
How World Spay Day Began
World Spay Day began with one woman’s determination to change the fate of millions of animals. Legendary Hollywood performer and lifelong animal welfare advocate Doris Day was deeply distressed by the number of healthy pets euthanized each year simply because there were not enough homes.
In 1978, she founded the Doris Day Animal Foundation, which later launched Spay Day USA to address the root cause of pet overpopulation. What began as a national initiative has since grown into World Spay Day, a global movement raising awareness about the lifesaving importance of spaying and neutering.
Thanks to Doris Day’s vision, countless animals have been saved, and communities around the world continue to make meaningful progress. At SpayKind, we are proud to carry this mission forward by expanding access to affordable spay-neuter services—helping prevent pet homelessness before it begins.
